The Leafs got some more wins, and the guys chasing them in the standings lost ground. The Washington Capitals were perhaps the most egregious of epic fails, blowing a 4-1 lead in the third (the second time they blew a lead against the Leafs at home in the final 20, btw- I've said it before, I'll say it again: the Caps are NOT winning the Stanley Cup with Michal Neuvirth in net for them. Ever. He's mentally soft, soft, SOFT! But enough of that- the Caps have enough problems of their own, having lost six in a row.)
It's a long season, but as is sometimes the case when you're looking at a tough stretch of games, teams like the Leafs find a way to win. They got smoked by Pittsburgh, but recovered with a home win against Montreal.
It's a long season-- Dion Phaneuf is back (to boos I might add), but the Leafs will win some and lose their share of games. The problem from a Boston draft watcher's perspective is how bad the New York Islanders (shutout tonight by Nashville) and New Jersey Devils are. They can't get out of their own way. Losers of six- and five-games straight, they are.
So, the watch marches on.
