If you follow the OHL at all, then you know Shane Prince is tearing it up with the Ottawa 67's with 21 goals and 74 points in just 41 games- good for 2nd overall in league scoring.
What you may not know is that the Spencerport, N.Y. native was originally drafted by the Kitchener Rangers and was dealt to Ottawa a year ago at the trade deadline.
That means that he got to spend about a half season skating with Gabriel Landeskog and Ryan Murphy.
Spoke to Shane tonight and asked him about his experience in Kitchener and what his feelings on his teammates. Here is what Prince had to say:
"Growing up in hockey, you play with a lot of guys that you know you'll end up being friends with for life. I'm honored to say that Gabriel and Ryan are two such players. Aside from their obvious skills and abilities as players, they're simply two of the better guys you can ever know and compete with. I really enjoyed being their teammate and going up against them is something I take pretty seriously because of the respect I have for them and what they are able to do on the ice."
Here's a video of Prince during his Ranger days when he and Murphy and Landeskog were on the same side.
